David Cucuteanu, Therapist in Training

Hello there, I’m David! I’m a counselor-in-training with a background in psychology and a continuing curiosity about why we are who we are and how we find ourselves in the situations we do. As a first-generation immigrant, I see the struggles that can come with balancing family and cultural expectations, perfectionism, performance-based identity, and developing healthy boundaries. Exploring our emotions, relationships, past experiences, and making sense of why we feel and respond the way we do can all be part of that journey.

I believe positive change can happen even without immediately revisiting everything we have experienced or kept hidden. Exploring the impulsive, uncomfortable, and difficult things we may struggle to let go of can feel like too much. Sometimes, just identifying and understanding what we are feeling in the moment, while learning to sit with those feelings, can be an important part of the process.

I value versatility and finding what works best for each person, drawing from Psychodynamic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). Whether it is through understanding long-standing patterns, or dealing with internal/external conflict, my goal is to help you achieve yours!
