Emily Ma, Intern Therapist

Hiya, I’m Emily!

I am an intern (student) counsellor who supports youth, adults, and couples as they navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, stress, and cultural identity concerns. Life isn’t always a walk in the park, and I’m here to walk alongside you through the highs, the lows, and everything in between. My goal is to create a safe, warm, and welcoming space- one that feels as comfortable as talking to a trusted companion.

I am guided by empathy, curiosity, and unconditional positive regard. Through my own authenticity, I hope to help clients feel like they can be their authentic selves. It is my goal to meet you exactly where you are at and support you as you move through your unique life path.

As a second-generation Cantonese Canadian, I find it incredibly important to work within the community that I was raised in. I understand what it’s like to be a child of immigrants, and so I am passionate about working with individuals and families who are navigating the intersections of culture, identity, and generational differences- supporting them in finding belonging, voice, and understanding across those spaces.
